SUMMARY OF
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Shipping Clerk Level 1 is responsible for performing basic shipping and warehouse tasks including picking, packing, labeling, and preparing customer orders for shipment. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement in all aspects of shipping and warehouse operations.
REPORTING TO **:
** Warehouse Supervisor
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
+ Adheres to all company
Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) regulations, policies, and procedures.
+ Participates in the continuous improvement process;maintainswarehouse and shipping areas in a neat, clean, and orderly mannerin accordance with5S practices.
+ Picks customer orders accurately from warehouse stock while maintaining
First-in-First-out control.
+ Packsorders using appropriate materials for the product and shipping method.
+ Affixes correct shipping labels on packed cartons.
+ Assembles cardboard containers, cartons, and builds any other packagingmaterialsas necessary.
+ Secures packages for shipment by usingbanding appropriate system.
+ Examines outgoing shipments to ensure all aspects of the shipments meet specifications.
+ Operates powered industrial trucks to move, convey, or hoist shipments to and from warehouse and workarea.
+ Performs periodic cycle counts.
+ Activelyparticipatesin continuous improvement initiatives.
+ Participates in corrective action meetings.
+ Assistsin other warehouse functions when needed.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job successfully.
+ Understanding ofworkplace safety regulations and procedures in a manufacturing environment.
+ Basic understanding of shipping, receiving, and warehouse operations.
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy inorderfulfillment and documentation.
+ Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
+ Basic familiarity with computers and basic software applications.
+ Strong situational and physical awareness.
+ Basic knowledge of label printers.
+
Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP software is a plus.
+ Knowledge of the operation of material handling equipment.
+ Ability to pass Powered Industrial Truck certification within
60 days.
+ Meetsbeginnerlevel competency on all requirements for picking components insmall parcel and picking and packaging components infreight/LTL.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ High School Diploma or GED,required.
+ Wav, electric pallet jack certification, or ability to obtain in30 days.
+ 6+ monthsof experience with order picking and/or RF Scanner.
+ 6+ monthsof experience shipping in a manufacturing environment, preferred.

PHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND VISUAL DEMANDS:
+ Majority of the time is divided between standing, stooping, and walking.
+ Lifting requirements are generally lessthan 25lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs.
+ Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
+ While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving, mechanical parts approximately 90% of the time.
+ Noise exposure is moderate.
