Assembler, Manufacturing ​/ Production

Serfilco Ltd, a worldwide leading manufacturer and supplier of pumps and filters to chemical processing industries, currently has a vacancy for an Assembler in our Northbrook, IL facility. Assembles by hand or using hand tools or portable powered tools, or operates equipment as necessary to produce or process products.

• Loads and unloads previously set-up machines, such as arbor presses, drill presses, taps, spot-welding machines, riveting machines, milling machines, or broaches, to perform fastening, force fitting, or light metal-cutting operation on the assembly line
• Lays out reference points, fabricates, and assembles according to blueprints and engineering specifications
• Reads and interprets blueprints, engineering specifications, and bill of materials
• Scribes cutting and bending lines on prefabricated parts and cuts, bends, and trims parts according to layout
• Uses hand files or portable grinders to clean parts or to produce close fit between parts
• Aligns components, and bolts, screws, or rivets them together
• Installs and tests moving parts
• Might be assigned to different workstations as production needs require or shift from one station to another to reduce fatigue factor
• Might be part of a crew and assist skilled operators in performance of skilled functions
• Might work at bench as member of an assembly group that processes or assembles one or two specific parts and passes unit to another worker
• Might assist with shipping and receiving including computer and ERP system data maintenance
• Might repair units that fail to meet specifications

• High School diploma or GED required

• Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, engineering specifications, and bill of materials
• Basic computer skills and ERP software knowledge
• Active forklift certification is a plus

• Constantly incurred: shift between 8-12 hours, work inside and outside, with moving vehicles, machinery with moving parts, in heat between 90°F–100°F, with ladders/scaffolding
