A day in this role

You kick off the morning by issuing calibrated tools and CNC tooling to production teams, logging every checkout in the inventory system. Midday, you’re inspecting returns for wear, identifying items due for calibration, and coordinating repairs or reconditioning. Later, you tidy and label storage locations, reconcile stock counts, and place replenishment orders before the next shift hits the floor. Throughout the day, you coach great tool-crib etiquette, uphold safety and quality standards, and spot ways to speed up turnaround while reducing cost.

Core responsibilities

Issue, receive, and track tools, equipment, and supplies for production and maintenance personnel.

Maintain precise check-in/check-out records and keep inventory systems current and accurate.

Inspect tools for wear, damage, or calibration status; coordinate repair, replacement, reconditioning, or calibration services.

Organize, label, and store tooling for fast retrieval; uphold a clean, safe, compliant crib.

Monitor minimums and place or trigger replenishment; alert leadership to shortages or delays.

Assist with routine cycle counts and full audits to maintain inventory integrity.

Champion safety, quality, and company policy adherence.

Drive continuous improvement to increase crib efficiency and manage tooling costs.

What you bring

Required1–3 years in tool crib operations, inventory control, or manufacturing support.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Working knowledge of hand tools, machine tools, and industrial equipment.

Hands-on proficiency with Zoller System Tool Management System, Tool Balancers, and Redo Matic equipment.

Strong organization, accuracy, and customer-service communication across departments.

Preferred Inspection experience within aerospace, aviation, automotive, or composites manufacturing.

Familiarity with composites and thermoset materials.

Work environment

This position is primarily performed in a tool crib, stockroom, or warehouse environment with regular interaction on the production floor. May involve exposure to manufacturing noise, dust, or other manufacturing debris.

Our facility is climate-controlled and features state-of-the-art CNC equipment. Expect periods of standing, lifting up to 50 lbs, and working around noise and composite dust (we provide appropriate PPE). Occasional flexibility may be needed for shift coverage.
