We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Wide-Format Printing Technician / Apprentice to join our production team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in wide-format printing, vinyl mounting, and finishing processes. This role is responsible for producing high quality printed graphics, operating wide-format printing equipment, and preparing materials for installation or delivery.
Responsibilities:Operate and maintain wide-format printers and finishing equipment (e.g., laminators, cutters, mounting tables)
Mount printed vinyl and adhesive graphics to various substrates (ACM, PVC, foam board, acrylic, coroplast, etc.)
Prepare, trim, and finish prints according to job specifications
Inspect prints for color accuracy, defects, and quality assurance
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the production area
Assist in the setup of print jobs, materials, and media handling
Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on printing and finishing equipment
Collaborate with production staff to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
Qualifications:The ideal candidate should possess the following skills:
Previous experience in wide-format printing or vinyl mounting required
Familiarity with large-format printers (VUTEk, HP, Roland, Epson, etc.) preferred
Experience operating laminators and other finishing equipment
Strong attention to detail and quality control
Ability to read and interpret work orders and production specs
Good communication skills and a team-oriented attitude
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
PreferredSkills:
Experience with Onyx, Caldera, or other RIP software
Basic knowledge of design or print file preparation (Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
Understanding of different substrate materials and adhesive types
Strong mechanical or technical aptitude
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $50,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
