SUPERVISOR: Director of Recreation

Position Summary:
The Recreation Program Coordinator oversees and runs the daily operations of inclusive recreational programs for children, teens, and adults with disabilities. This role is hands-on and involves both directly leading programs and coordinating staff and volunteers to ensure activities are delivered consistently and effectively.
HIGHLIGHTS:
- Responsible for creating and directly leading daily programming for all participants.
- Provide on-site guidance and assistance to participants, parents and staff.
- Work with the Recreation Program team to create and execute schedules, visuals, and social stories tailored to the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, supporting an inclusive and engaging program environment.
- Serve as a trusted point of connection for families-building strong, supportive relationships through clear and compassionate communication.
- Assist with program registrations, paperwork, and records to ensure programs run smoothly and participants are fully supported.
- Help bring programs to life by coordinating schedules, calendars, events, transportation, and on-site logistics.
- Collaborate with marketing and communications teams to promote programs and keep families informed throughout the year.
- Support volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and engagement to strengthen programs and community involvement.
- Be an active presence at programs and events, providing guidance to staff and volunteers and promoting inclusive participation.
- Assist with outreach and recruitment of participants, partners, and vendors to grow and strengthen programs.
- Oversee supplies, equipment, vehicles, and shared spaces in collaboration with internal teams.
- Support Special Olympics programs, including occasional additional hours and overnight trips, helping ensure participants have a safe, fun, and meaningful experience.
- Make a meaningful, hands-on impact every day by helping create welcoming, well-organized, and joyful experiences for participants and families.
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and enjoy supporting meaningful recreation programs for individuals with disabilities.
- Bring a positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Able to juggle multiple tasks while keeping communication clear, professional, and approachable.
- Experienced in recreation, camp, or child care programs, and/or working with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities.
- Comfortable with technology and eager to learn new systems, including program management databases.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with participants, families, staff, and community partners.
- Flexible to work evenings, weekends, and occasional special events.
- Hold a valid driver's license and CPR/First Aid certification.
- Knowledge of Judaism is a plus, but a passion for inclusion, organization, and making an impact is what matters most.
