Job Description SummaryThe Registered Nurse is responsible for performing individualized and age‑specific nursing assessment of assigned patients using advanced assessment skills and other medical data to formulate nursing diagnoses. The nurse develops individualized care plans, provides comprehensive nursing care, and instructs patients and significant others in care procedures, disease or condition management, expected outcomes, and home care.
Responsibilities- Provide professional nursing care for the comfort and well‑being of patients, including specialized treatments, medication administration, and coordination with other departments.
- Collect pertinent physiological, psychosocial, and functional data and formulate nursing diagnoses using evidence‑based techniques.
- Assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Integrate data from the health team and produce written assessments and care plans.
- Assess patients, identify changes in status, establish priorities for care, and recognize crisis situations.
- Implement interventions consistent with the interdisciplinary treatment plan, evaluate progress toward goals, and modify the plan of care as indicated.
- Provide patients and significant others with information about care during hospitalization, expected outcomes, home‑care instructions, and referrals to appropriate health agencies and resources.
- Prepare and provide reports on patient care plans and complete documentation for the health team.
- Review, evaluate, and make recommendations regarding SRAlab policies and procedures related to patient care.
- Perform any additional duties that may be assigned in the best interest of SRAlab.
- Report directly to the Nurse Manager.
- Professional nursing knowledge acquired by obtaining a Bachelor or Master of Science in Nursing from an accredited program, or an accredited Associate Degree in Nursing (with commitment to complete BSN or MSN within two years).
- Illinois license to practice as a registered nurse.
- Current CPR or BLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- Understanding of growth and development of infant, child, adolescent, young adult, middle‑aged adult, and geriatric patients.
- Ability to interpret developmental information to assure patient needs are met.
- Effective communication skills, including verbal, non‑verbal, and written communication.
- Ownership in serving customers, team, and organization and resolving problems.
- Adaptability to changing work demands and environments.
- Demonstrated critical thinking skills and sound judgment in monitoring and responding to patient needs or changes in condition.
- Ability to anticipate, assess, and address the needs of patients.
- Ability to transfer and position patients, consistent with lifting up to 35 lbs.
Normal patient care environment with little or no exposure to dust or extreme temperature. Occasional exposure to infectious diseases when working with patients.
Benefits- Pay Range: $35.50 - $53.75
