Monday - Friday 8:00 - 5:00 pm, On-call Rotation, Shift Coverage as Needed (weekends and nights)
About the RoleThe Nurse Director (DON) plans, coordinates and supervises the delivery of nursing care within their assigned treatment facilities. The DON is a member of the assigned facility leadership team and participates in overall management, patient treatment plan reviews, nursing meetings and operational leadership. The DON is the primary communicator between nursing matters at the facility and the Regional DON.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Oversee and direct all nursing and BHC staffing processes, including performance management of staff to ensure safe staffing models and optimal performance at all assigned facilities
- Under instruction of the Chief Nursing Officer or Regional Director of Nursing, implement and ensure adoption and understanding of procedures in accordance with Joint Commission and State requirements, including infection prevention and control programs
- Track all required training, skill competencies and compliance items
- Collaborate with service line directors (e.g., Pharmacy, Nutrition Services) to ensure compliance with state regulations
- Assume responsibility for service recovery, patient experience and monthly nursing metrics reported to executive leadership
- Review incident reports, provide education and follow established processes
- Assist/oversee successful onboarding, orientation and training for nursing and support staff
- Troubleshoot problems/situations that arise on the unit
- Active state RN licensure (required)
- Maintain BLS and CPR certification (required)
- 5+ years of nursing leadership experience (required)
- Graduate degree in nursing (preferred)
Illinois Pay Range: $117,000 - $135,000 USD
