Position: Registered Nurse Employee Health - Part-Time

Hourly Pay Range:

$38.16 - $59.15 per hour, based on experience.

Position Overview

Registered Nurse Employee Health at Northwest Community Hospital (Arlington Heights, IL).

Part‑time, 20 hours per week, Monday‑Friday 7:30 am‑4:00 pm. May involve travel to other Endeavor Health sites.

Responsibilities
  • Perform pre‑placement screenings for employed and contingent workers.
  • Review serology documentation and vaccine history; provide immunizations, TB surveillance, drug and alcohol testing, respirator fit testing.
  • Communicate clearance status to candidates, HR, and management.
  • Conduct annual TB surveillance and Respirator Fit Testing; participate in mass vaccination programs.
  • Manage immunization compliance and testing for catch‑up programs.
  • Review lab results, enter data into the medical record system, and follow up with non‑compliant team members.
  • Perform occupational exposure follow‑up to communicable diseases.
  • Conduct initial telephone interviews, triage exposed team members, review test results, and determine follow‑up care.
  • Handle intake calls for blood and body fluid exposures—triage, order labs, chart, create appointments, provide education.
  • Provide rotating on‑call coverage for work‑related exposures and ILI symptom screenings during non‑business hours.
  • Respond to calls within 15 minutes of notification.
  • Educate exposed team members on off‑hour processes—documentation, treatment plans, lab results, post‑exposure prophylaxis.
  • Screen team members for symptoms after communicable disease illness.
  • Evaluate physician notes and discharge summaries for restrictions and assess role fit.
  • Partner with Employee Health provider to determine return‑to‑work status with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Communicate return‑to‑work status and required accommodations/restrictions to managers.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and records in the electronic management system (Team Member Health).
  • Provide patient care in compliance with NPSG and Core Measures; maintain Joint Commission readiness and HIPAA compliance; support patient safety and infection control protocols.
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or Healthcare/Science;
    Illinois state license.
  • Current RN license (IDFPR) and Basic Life Support (CPR & AED) certification.
  • Certified in Urine Drug Screening, Breath Alcohol Testing, and Hair Drug Screening procedures (at hire or within 3 months).
  • 3+ years of clinical nursing experience.
  • Phlebotomy skills (at hire or within 3 months).
  • Experience documenting patient care in an electronic medical record.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to make clinical assessments and judgments.
  • Ability to provide counseling and emotional support.
  • Ability to support the care team (teamwork).
  • Initiative and ability to work independently.
  • Flexibility and transportation for travel between Endeavor Health sites.
