POSITION SUMMARY

The Journeyman Industrial Electrician will perform electrical work and inspection on wiring, fixtures, outlets, and other electrical components. This role requires the person to replace and repair electrical equipment and devices as required. Must maintain a deep understanding of building code regulations to check and ensure compliance with the highest standards. Success in this role will be demonstrated by employing effective process controls to ensure the reliability, safety, and efficient installation and maintenance of electrical systems.

PRIMARY

DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems, equipment, and components in accordance with local and national codes and regulations
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoot complex electrical problems
  • Perform routine and preventative maintenance on electrical systems and equipment
  • Test electrical systems and equipment to ensure they are functioning safely and efficiently
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Work with a team of electricians and others to complete projects on time.
QUALIFICATION/SKILLSET
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints
  • Working knowledge of electrical codes and regulations
  • Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical problems
  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Physical ability to lift heavy equipment and work in confined spaces
  • Ability to follow and execute instructions.
  • Must be able to work independently or as part of a team.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in the electrical industry

The position requires physical activity such as reaching, bending, twisting, squatting, lifting 50 pounds or more, and standing for 8-12 hours daily.
