Our internships span a variety of business areas and are open to rising seniors in undergraduate programs. Designed to support both personal and professional growth, the 10-week summer program runs from early June through mid-August in one of our four corporate offices in the Chicagoland area.
Job DescriptionAs a Software Engineering Intern, you will work alongside experienced software engineers to design, develop, test, deploy, and support applications that drive Medline's Warehouse Management Systems and E-Commerce platforms. This role provides exposure to both front-end and back-end development, allowing interns to contribute across the software development lifecycle while collaborating in an agile, team-oriented environment.
Examples of Projects and Responsibilities- Develop and implement new features for business and e-commerce applications.
- Design, code, test, deploy, and support software solutions.
- Analyze, debug, and resolve software defects and production issues.
- Participate in code reviews and follow established coding standard sand best practices.
- Develop and execute unit tests and support automated testing efforts.
- Collaborate with team members to improve existing applications and software development processes.
- Write technical documentation to support software maintenance and usability.
- Analyze business requirements and contribute to solution design discussions.
- Work closely with fellow interns and Medline team members in a collaborative, professional environment.
- Rising senior or junior pursuing abachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum 3.0 GPA preferred.
- Experience with Java and/or JavaScript through coursework, projects, or internships.
- Understandingofobject-oriented programming principles and software design concepts.
Exposure to modern front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Angular, or Next.js. - Familiarity with databases and SQL.
- Experience with Git or other version control systems.
- Knowledge of frameworks and tools such as Spring, Hibernate, Maven, Selenium, Jasmine, or Karma is a plus.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment and adapt quickly tonew technologies.
- Unrestricted permanent U.S. work authorization.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$23.25 - $33.75 Hourly
The actual salary will vary based on applicant's location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
