Hourly rate commensurate with experience.
QualificationsHigh School Diploma, basic secretarial, clerical and computer skills, experience working in a school setting.
Reports toBuilding Administrators.
EvaluationAs determined by the District.
Work CalendarFull Time, 200 work days.
Position GoalTo enhance the educational process by effectively and confidentially performing the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the maximum impact is positive with students, staff, and parent. The Administrative Assistant shall be responsible for the following duties and perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Rate of Pay / BenefitsSalary range $. The position includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
Superintendent / Board- Observe and adhere to all Board of Education policies and regulations, and all administrative rules and procedures.
- Perform the usual office routines and practices associated with an office.
- Receive and direct all incoming calls.
- Maintain a daily teacher attendance log.
- Prepare purchase orders, maintain copies and monitor the receipt of supplies and materials.
- Perform any bookkeeping/clerical tasks associated with the specific position.
- Maintain a regular filing system.
- Process incoming school correspondence and respond as directed.
- Maintain student records as shall be required.
- Complete the removal of a child from the building by the parent or guardian.
- Complete the necessary information to register and transfer a student.
- Maintain the ‘opening' and ‘closing' of school materials.
- Handle the correspondence of the building Principal.
- Assist the Principal and Director of Transportation to schedule stops and assign bus routes to students, works with Bus Company to prepare emergency bus lists, and update student data demographic.
- Supervise the use of all office equipment.
- Provide initial first aid to students (if necessary) and assist in the preparation of the accident report.
- Contact parents when school nurse is absent.
- Collect monies and maintain accounts as directed by Principal.
- Process building use requests.
- Schedule parent/administrator conferences as requested.
- Exhibit confidentiality in relation to students, parents and faculty.
- Develop a positive working relationship with administration, staff, students and parents.
- Assume responsibility for personal and professional growth and development by attending meetings, workshops, conferences and continuing education classes as related to office management and technology/equipment.
- Be knowledgeable of and adhere to the District Safety Plan.
