Senior Mechanical BIM Engineer / MEP BIM Engineer / Revit Engineer Franklin Park, IL | Full-Time | Hybrid (1 Day Remote)
Design and Coordinate Complex Power Distribution Systems in a Growing, High-Demand Industry
Are you a Revit-based BIM or MEP engineer who wants to move beyond routine building design and work on complex, engineered-to-order systems tied to real-world power infrastructure?
This is an opportunity to step into a more advanced engineering role where your designs directly support large-scale electrical distribution systems, while working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and project teams to bring projects from concept through execution.
We are partnering with a growing, established manufacturer in the electrical power sector that is expanding its engineering team due to continued demand and project growth.
Why You Should Apply- Base salary: $95,000–$115,000 depending on experience
- Annual bonus opportunity
- Hybrid schedule with 1 day remote per week
- Flexible work hours
- Stable, growing company in a high-demand industry sector
- Opportunity to work on complex, engineered-to-order projects
- Direct visibility to manufacturing and shop floor operations
- Strong internal career development and advancement opportunities
- Employee-focused culture including events, family day, and recognition programs
The Senior Mechanical BIM Engineer will develop and coordinate detailed BIM models and layouts for electrical and mechanical systems within complex power distribution projects.
This role acts as a key link between engineering, project management, customers, and manufacturing, ensuring designs are accurate, coordinated, and executable in real-world production and installation environments.
This is not a purely desk-based design role—you will be involved in coordination, problem-solving, and supporting projects that move from design into fabrication and implementation.
What You’ll Do- Develop and coordinate Revit-based BIM models for electrical and mechanical systems
- Create layouts, schematics, and detailed design documentation
- Coordinate across engineering, project management, and customers to resolve design challenges
- Support engineered-to-order project execution from design through build
- Incorporate design changes, field updates, and as-built information into models
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project specifications
- Interface with manufacturing and shop teams to ensure design feasibility
- Participate in project coordination meetings and problem-solving discussions
- Maintain accurate version control of all design files and documentation
- 2–7 years of experience in BIM, MEP, or design engineering roles
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Revit (required)
- Experience working with a consulting engineering firm or electrical contractor supporting commercial or industrial projects
- Ability to read and interpret 2D drawings and construction documents
- Experience coordinating MEP systems within a BIM environment
- Working knowledge of tools such as Navisworks or similar coordination software is a plus
- Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
- Ability to take general direction and translate it into accurate design deliverables
- Move beyond standard building design into power and electrical infrastructure projects
- Gain exposure to manufacturing and real-world system execution
- Work on custom, project-based engineering work rather than repetitive design
- Join a company with low turnover and strong internal growth opportunities
- Be part of a team where engineering work directly impacts finished systems
- Primarily office-based with exposure to manufacturing and shop floor environments
- Occasional interaction with active project sites or installations
- Collaborative, team-oriented engineering environment
