Building Maintenance Technician

• Perform manual and skilled work at facilities for building and grounds maintenance
• Perform arc welding and some fabrication
• Maintain outdoor grounds, including snow plowing, yard work, and some concrete work
• Perform indoor carpentry, electrical, welding, fabrication, plumbing, and HVAC repairs and maintenance
• Maintain dock facilities
• Repair overhead doors
• Replace and repair dock plates
• Travel to remote terminal locations as needed, up to 75%
• Perform other duties as needed

• Valid Drivers License
• Facilities Maintenance experience in the Transportation Industry preferred
• High level of knowledge and experience with various skilled trades used in building and grounds repair and maintenance
• Interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
• Strong analytical and decision-making skills
• Organized and committed to performing high quality work
• Must meet the physical requirements of the job
• Must successfully pass a physical, functional screen and drug test
• Ability to work independently while maintaining communication with supervisor
• Excellent attendance
• Ability to travel to regional terminals
• Availability for occasional weekend and night hours
• Availability for on-call work around the clock
• Ability to exert up to 100 pounds of force frequently
• Ability to work inside and outside, including extreme hot or cold weather conditions
• Ability to stand, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and reach for sustained periods
• Ability to work around noise, moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, chemicals, fumes, odors, dusts, mists, and gases
• Close visual acuity for operating machines and motor vehicles
• Visual acuity for inspecting small defects and parts, using measurement devices, and assembly or fabrication

Demonstrates extensive experience in Facilities Maintenance, including skilled trades such as Carpentry, Electrical, Welding, Plumbing, and HVAC. Capable of performing manual labor in various weather conditions while maintaining high-quality work standards and effective communication.
