Job Overview
The driver’s helper assists the driver with all day‑to‑day activities, including loading/unloading, route preparation, and supporting delivery operations.
Essential Functions- Accurately load and scan the daily route onto the truck.
- Assist driver with navigation and freight handling to business or residence destinations.
- Utilize the manifest to pull route, stage freight, and help drivers load/unload trucks.
- Perform material‑handling tasks such as picking, packing, scanning, kitting, counting, and other related duties.
- Ensure timeliness, correct packaging, and accurate system work.
- Identify and annotate overages, shortages and damages (OS&D).
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, including forklift, pallet jack, etc.
- Read and follow detailed instructions in a fast‑paced environment.
- Maintain a safe and secure work environment, complying with TSA and OSHA guidelines.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to read a map and general geographic knowledge.
- Ability to lift 75 lbs unassisted (or 50+ lbs unassisted).
- Good customer‑service skills.
- Willingness to work overtime as needed.
- Strong reading and comprehension of work instructions.
- Ability to work well with others and with little supervision.
- High attention to detail.
- English speaking, reading, and writing.
This position requires standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, bending, and lifting objects up to 50 lbs. Frequently uses pallet jacks and forklifts. Requires regular use of a phone and a PC, and reading/writing of shipping documents.
Work Environment & Additional RequirementsEmployees may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other areas to cover absences or relieve workload, and may be required to work in various environments.

$18.00 to $19.00 per hour
Monday through Friday
7 am to 9 am start time; 8‑hour shift plus overtime.
