General Maintenance Worker

Overview

Performs a variety of work in the maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment, grounds at various facilities/sites including carpentry, plumbing, and painting. Must have the ability to assemble office and classroom furniture and pick-up and deliver file boxes and other material as needed. Will be required to clean carpets as needed, as well as light interior building cleaning of walls, doors and floors when needed.

Exterior cleaning includes after storm clean-up of fallen branches and trees, trash pickup of parking lots and grounds, roof cleanup of snow, ice and leaves. Must be able to work independently. Position requires the ability to interact with multiple levels of staff. This position requires the ability to follow assigned work orders. A company vehicle will be provided to travel to TVCCA sites.

High School Diploma and two to five years of facilities building, maintenance and repairs experience. Must be able to operate and use a variety of hand and power tools; operate appropriate lifts as needed to perform duties of the job. Must have strong communication skills, verbal and written, and be able to use computers, smart phones and tablets. Must have a good past record of work reliability and a valid driver’s license and good driving record.
