About the Role
The Maintenance Technician is a skilled hands-on technical member of our maintenance team who is responsible for ensuring the safety of our campus by maintaining and repairing school facilities, grounds, equipment, and event set-up / tear down.
Reporting to the Director of Facilities and Transportation, this position is a full-time, non-exempt position. The Maintenance Technician will be scheduled to work Monday - Friday from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM and may be required to work nights, weekends, emergency call-ins, and overtime as needed.

- Perform repairs across plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and groundskeeping systems.
- Operate machinery, power tools and hand tools when maintaining and repairing facilities and grounds.
- Accurately account for material relative to position.
- Read and interpret blueprints, general safety/operating instructions, electrical schematics, chemical usage and supply instructions, etc.
- Secure multi-building facilities including locking and unlocking doors and windows and reporting unauthorized occupants.
- Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools as requested.
- Assist with the cleaning and setup of facilities for meetings and events. Facilitate event activities for school and ancillary groups (must be available for overtime as required).
- Maintain all safety and code requirements of the Federal, State and local municipalities; support and enforce all school policies and rules, safety regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
- Attend to emergencies when necessary.
- Attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
The ideal candidate brings a proven track record as a maintenance technician, preferably in a school environment. You should be a problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses the technical acumen to maintain and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry and groundskeeping. - High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Skilled trades experience with applicable licensing and certifications. Experience in a school environment is preferred.
- Demonstrated mastery in troubleshooting and repairing electrical, plumbing, construction, carpentry and heating and cooling systems.
- Possess and maintain a valid State vehicle operator's license; a good driving record is required.
- Demonstrated knowledge of grounds maintenance methods, procedures, practices, tools and equipment.
