SUBSTITUTE CUSTODIAN

Purpose Statement

The job of Substitute Custodian was established for the purpose/s of providing custodial services at assigned sites when needed; ensuring an attractive, sanitary and safe environment for students, staff and visitors; performing a variety of special cleaning operations; and assisting in preparing facilities for classroom activities, building, district and community events.

This job reports to Custodial Services Manager

• Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds (e.g. classrooms, offices, gym, restrooms); performs laundry duties for gym and multipurpose rooms, collects and disposes all recycling materials weekly, and maintains a sanitary, safe and attractive environment.
• Performs functions that require the use of machines, equipment, and tools to maintain a clean and sanitized building environment.
• Replenishes classroom and restroom supplies (e.g. paper towels, soap) to ensure adequate quantities for daily use.
• Supports other site custodial and maintenance staff (e.g. grounds, trades) in completing site custodial activities.

High School diploma or equivalent.

Criminal Justice Fingerprint/Background Clearance and Family Care Safety Registry.
