Sign Language Interpreter in Oak Forest, IL

• Completion of a recognized Sign Language Interpreter (SLI) certification
• EIPA credential accepted in school settings
• Experience supporting k-12 students preferred
• Comfort interpreting for multiple students, sometimes simultaneously, in classroom settings
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to adapt to different subjects and teaching styles

• Interpret classroom instruction, activities, and discussions using American Sign Language (ASL) or other required sign systems
• Foster seamless communication between students, teachers, and peers
• Support both individual and small groups of students across a mainstream curriculum
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to established professional standards
• Collaborate with educators and other staff to ensure students needs are met
• Contribute to an inclusive, positive school environment

• Consistent full-time schedule: 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday
