Salary Range: $18.00 - $23.00 Hourly
I. POSITION PURPOSEKey Responsibilities:
- Perform daily cleaning tasks in church, classrooms, offices, kitchens, restrooms, common areas, and campus grounds.
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize floors, carpets, and mats.
- Clean surfaces, desks, shelves, chairs, vents and windowsills, doors, handles, light switches, and walls.
- Clean entry doors, frames, and windows.
- Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper disposal of waste, adhering to recycling guidelines.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety of campus grounds.
- Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, disinfect, replenish supplies, and ensure a hygienic environment.
- Performs routine maintenance of garden and landscaped areas, including trimming, edging, and weeding.
- Address urgent cleaning needs promptly to maintain a safe and welcoming environment.
- Restock custodial supplies as needed. Communicate inventory and supply needs to Administrative Assistant for ordering.
- Perform and/or facilitate regular and annual preventative and corrective maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
- Provides general assistance as needed as requested by staff particularly for special event preparation (i.e. setting up chairs, tables, audio-visual equipment, and other), hauling/moving items and equipment.
- Communicate regularly with Parish Administrator to ensure a cohesive and effective cleaning and event setup schedule.
- Follow safety protocols, including knowledge of Safety Data Sheets (SDS), and use cleaning equipment and chemicals in a safe and responsible manner, ensuring a secure working environment.
- Maintain general campus security.
- Performs other duties as may be assigned.
- Maintains a level of knowledge and skills required to function as a Custodian. This is accomplished through reading appropriate materials and attending appropriate workshops or participating in other training opportunities.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable custodial experience, preferably in an educational/parish setting.
- Attention to detail and adherence to procedure.
- Physical ability to lift and move heavy objects, bend, stoop, and stand for extended periods.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Trustworthy communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively.
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment, use cleaning chemicals safely, recognize hazardous situations, and work in a safe manner.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Must pass background check upon hire
Any offered salary is determined based on internal equity, internal salary ranges, market data, applicant’s skills and prior relevant experience, certain degrees and certifications.
