Job GoalTo support the implementation, fidelity, and sustainability of the Positive Behavior Intervention and Support (PBIS) framework at the building level by providing leadership, training, data analysis, and ongoing technical assistance to staff in support of student emotional and behavioral growth.
Job RequirementsThe PBIS Internal Coach is a building-based extended service role that supports the implementation and sustainability of the school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention and Support framework at the coach's home school. The Internal Coach works closely with the Building Principal, the building PBIS/Universal Team, faculty, students, and families, and collaborates with the External Coach and other district-level coaches. The role involves assisting in the facilitation of team meetings, analyzing discipline data, coordinating student recognition activities, and providing ongoing training and technical assistance to staff.

Job Qualifications- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License with appropriate endorsement
- Previous experience and training with PBIS, including school-wide, classroom, and individual plans
- Agreement to a two to three year commitment in the role
- Strong understanding of research-based practices for student emotional and behavioral support
- Ability to analyze discipline data and translate findings into actionable building‑level strategies
- Effective communication, facilitation, and collaboration skills
Building Principal, may receive assignments from administrative personnel as required or assist with special projects as assigned by District administration.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities- Demonstrate support of the Oak Lawn‑Hometown School District #123 Strategic Framework.
- Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative procedures.
- Implement PBIS with integrity within the home school and assist with sustainability efforts.
- Advocate for students and support teachers in implementing research‑based best practices regarding students' emotional and behavioral needs.
- Coordinate student recognition activities, including weekly or biweekly raffle prizes and monthly celebrations.
- Assist in the facilitation of building level Universal Team meetings, including setting meeting dates, preparing agendas and minutes, managing calendar tasks, and communicating with staff and parents/guardians.
- Participate in district and building level team meetings, monthly PBIS meetings with the External Coach, and relevant regional, state, and national trainings.
