Essential Functions & Responsibilities
Demonstrate support for the Mission, Vision, and Goals of the Oak Lawn-Hometown School District 123Uphold the established Board of Education policies, regulations, and administrative proceduresCommunicate and cooperate with colleagues, students, parents, and the community as needed to meet professional standardsMaintain and improve professional competenceParticipate in meetings and perform other responsibilities as assigned by the principal or designee in accordance with the contract and Board of EducationAssess and address students' strengths and learning needsCase management including: developing IEPs, monitoring student progress, communicating with parents and team members, assisting in the preparation of student schedules, implementing behavior intervention plans, and coordinating scheduled meeting times when necessaryPlan and implement appropriate instruction using methods and materials which are most appropriate for meeting student goals and objectivesEvaluate students on a regular basis and provide reports as requiredCreate a classroom and school environment that is conducive to learning and is age appropriateUtilize technology to promote learning, creativity, collaborationApply student learning theory, brain-based learning, and differentiated instructionRegular attendance and/or physical presence at the jobAdditional responsibilities as appropriate for the positionTerms of Employment

Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Building Principal or designee in accordance with the Board of Education’s policy on Evaluation of Professional Personnel.
