Technology And Engineering Education Teacher

The Technology Engineering Education Teacher is responsible for providing high-quality instruction to high school students while fostering a supportive and inclusive classroom environment and collaborating with colleagues to ensure academic success.

Responsibilities include teaching entry level and advanced Technology Engineering Education (Industrial/Applied Technology) courses, experience with a variety of student-centered instructional and assessment strategies, experience teaching Production/Construction/Woodworking, strong communication and classroom management skills, desire to pursue professional growth, develop new methodologies and incorporate them into technology education, ability to aide in the development of curriculum, strong background in OSHA regulations and lab safety, design and deliver standards-based lessons in technical education courses as assigned, create a culturally responsive classroom that respects and celebrates students' diverse backgrounds, integrate current events, primary sources, and technology to enhance student engagement and understanding.

The Technology and Engineering Teacher serves as an essential instructional leader and collaborative partner within the school community. This role is responsible for transforming the classroom into a dynamic hub of inquiry, fostering a deep-seated culture of learning, and ensuring that students learn in a safe and supportive environment.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Technology or a related field and an Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) in Industrial Technology (CTE).
