Job Title: CT Technologist – Level I Trauma Center

Location: Oak Lawn, IL (45 minutes from Chicago)

Facility Type: 749-Bed Hospital | Level I Trauma Center | Magnet Designated | Comprehensive Stroke Center

Department: CT Imaging

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced CT Technologist to join a high-acuity imaging department at a nationally recognized Level I Trauma and Comprehensive Stroke Center. This role requires strong clinical expertise, the ability to work independently in trauma settings, and experience with both adult and pediatric populations.

This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned CT Tech who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

• CT Rooms:

  • 2 Outpatient

  • 5 Inpatient

• Patient Ratio: 1:1

• Experience
  
  Required:
  
  Minimum 2 years (No first-time travelers)

• Floating: Inpatient Imaging Center (mid-shift floating possible)

• Adults & Pediatrics (peds experience preferred – primarily trauma cases)

• Level I Trauma patients

• Stroke & CTA studies

• Biopsies (needle, bone marrow)

• Drain placements

• Calcium scoring

• Cardiac CT

• Abdomen, pelvis, head, chest, extremities & general anatomy

• Perform high-quality CT imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders

• Provide trauma imaging support in a Level I Trauma setting

• Accurately position patients and ensure optimal image acquisition

• Follow radiation safety and contrast administration protocols

• Assist with interventional procedures and biopsies as needed

• Start IVs (preferred skill) and administer contrast per protocol

• Collaborate with radiologists, nursing staff, RT, and rapid response teams

• Document accurately in EPIC

• Maintain equipment and ensure compliance with hospital standards

• Minimum 2 years CT experience

• Level I Trauma experience required

• ARRT certification

• IEMA (Illinois license) required

• BLS certification

• EPIC experience required

• IV start experience (preferred)

• Respiratory Therapy – 24/7

• Hospitalist – 24/7

• Code Blue/Rapid Response Team

• Equipment:
  Siemens & Philips CT Scanners

• Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend

• Night Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

• Schedule released every 4 weeks

• Holiday coverage required based on department needs

• Time-off requests require manager approval

• Orientation: 1 week on day shift to learn department workflow
