Position OverviewUnder limited supervision, the Clinical Services Director is responsible for the overall coordination and quality of resident care services at the Community. This includes initial and ongoing resident assessments, care plan development, medication oversight, regulatory compliance, and leadership of the resident care team.
You will supervise:
- Nurses/LPN’s
- Care Assistants
This role carries both clinical and operational responsibility — ensuring excellent care delivery while meeting established budget and care thresholds.

- Conduct initial and ongoing resident assessments
- Develop, implement, and update individualized Care/Service Plans
- Evaluate medication orders and oversee Medication Administration Records
- Communicate changes of condition to physicians and families
- Coordinate medical visits and emergency care as needed
- Monitor infection control practices and ensure regulatory compliance
- Promote and protect the rights of each resident
- Hire, orient, train, and supervise Care Assistants
- Provide ongoing coaching, performance evaluations, and corrective action when necessary
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels
- Foster a positive team culture built on respect, accountability, and collaboration
- Lead in-service training and professional development
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation and reporting systems
- Monitor centrally stored medications and supplies
- Ensure resident areas are clean, safe, and well-maintained
- Support budgeting and expense control for the department
- Stay current with state and federal regulations
- Serve as Manager on Duty on a rotating basis
- Current and valid Nursing License
- First Aid and CPR certification
- Criminal record clearance (as required by law)
- Minimum of three years of experience in a senior living community
- Minimum of three years in a management or supervisory role (A bachelor’s degree in nursing or related field may substitute for some experience.)
