As an Infection Prevention RN, you will provide oversight of the Infection Prevention Control Program and collaborate with facility leadership and medical director to develop, implement, and evaluate annual infection prevention goals and action plan. The Infection Prevention RN establishes the facility-wide system for the prevention, identification, investigation and control of infection of residents, staff, and visitors, including surveillance designed to identify possible communicable diseases or infections before they spread, conducts any/all outbreak investigations, and maintains the system for reporting possible incidents of communicable diseases to local, state, or national agencies as required.

The IP Nurse also oversees the antibiotic stewardship program and monitors residents’ antibiotic use and assesses the need for, develops, and presents IPCP in-service education for individual departments, general orientation, and annual review as needed. In this role, the Infection Prevention RN is required to maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local regulations and ensure that the facility leaders are informed of appropriate issues.

• Minimum bachelor's degree in Science, Nursing or related field
• Unencumbered State of Illinois Registered Nurse (R.N.) license
• CPR certification
• Five (5) years of experience as an R.N.
• One (1) year of experience in an infection control position (preferred)
