Job Summary
Ambulatory & Outpatient Registered Nurse (RN) within Advocate Medical Group’s Pediatric Nephrology Subspecialties at Oak Lawn, IL, and other locations. A full‑time position (40 hrs/week) offering a pay range of $35.50–$53.25 per hour. In this role, the RN delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care, collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, advocates for patients, and upholds professional practice standards to promote optimal health outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide safe, therapeutic nursing care that aligns with evidence‑based practice, clinical decision making, and compassion.
- Coordinate comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, advocate for patient needs, and uphold professional practice standards.
- Create the safest patient environment and deliver the best patient experience across the continuum.
- Travel between AMG locations (Oak Lawn, Tinley Park, Aurora) as required.
Schedule:
Monday – Friday, 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m.; no evenings or weekends.
- Completion of an accredited or approved nursing program.
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the RN practices.
- BLS for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association.
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience preferred.
- Experience in pediatrics or nephrology is a plus.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach above shoulders, and twist frequently during the workday.
- Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35pounds and handle patient transport (push/pull with 30lbs of force, slide transfer of 150lbs with a second person).
- Must have functional speech, vision, hearing, and tactile skills for IV insertion and other procedures.
- Must maneuver foot pedals on carts or machines and perform physical safety interventions such as patient restraint and verbal de‑escalation if needed.
- May be exposed to chemical and hazardous waste, blood and body fluids, and communicable disease; protective clothing and equipment must be used.
- Must respond quickly to changes in patient or unit conditions; physical ability testing may be required.
