Registered Nurse (RN) – Post Anesthesia Care Unit Where You Will Work:
The Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) is a fast-paced perioperative environment specializing in ASPAN-standard recovery care for both adult and pediatric populations. This unit partners closely with anesthesia providers to optimize each patient’s post-operative condition and ensure safe, efficient recovery.
PACU nurses manage a diverse patient population with varying levels of acuity, requiring strong critical thinking, adaptability, and clinical expertise. Candidates with prior experience in Emergency Department (ED), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), or PACU settings are highly preferred.
Highlights:- Collaborative, team-based environment with strong anesthesia partnership
- Exposure to a wide variety of surgical cases and patient acuity levels
- Schedule includes 11:00–23:30 shifts with rotating 15:00–03:30 coverage
- Structured call model with weekday overnight and weekend coverage
- Rotating Saturday day shift coverage
- Fair and consistent holiday call distribution
- Completion of an accredited or approved program in nursing
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the teammate practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association
- As a skilled and compassionate RN, you will play a pivotal role in providing and coordinating comprehensive patient care through the nursing process to deliver safe, therapeutic care in accordance with established standards, policies, and procedures.
Using evidence-based practice, clinical decision making, compassion, and skills communication while leading efforts to create the safest patient environment and the best patient experience across the continuum.
