About the Role

Join our dynamic school district team as a Receptionist at Julian Middle school! In this crucial role, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of school-wide functions, in alignment with our district's equity commitments as expressed in the Board Policy 7:12:
Ensuring Racial and Educational Equity.

Your responsibilities will include being the first point of contact in many situations for our students, staff, and families. The ideal candidate will have a friendly demeanor, strong organizational skills, and an eagerness to assist our school community with a high level of professionalism and courtesy. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Welcome on-site visitors, determine the nature of their business and announce visitors to appropriate personnel.
  • Answer phone calls and provide assistance to parents and school staff.
  • Perform other office support duties, sorting, copying, filing, and collating, when required.
  • Process incoming/outgoing mail/faxes and distribute them to the appropriate personnel.
  • Assist the Registrar in student registration as needed.
  • Compile daily student attendance and contact parents of absent students.
  • Complete the end of the month student attendance report.
  • Record employee absence and verify coverage.
  • Verify employee attendance on bi‑weekly payroll sheets. Ensure signature of employees.
  • Maintain copier machines, change cartridges when needed and arrange for repairs.
  • Act as building cashier, process all deposits, collect and enter school fees.
  • Process purchase orders and distribute materials.
  • Prepare and forward to the Registrar all transfer student records.
  • Monitor student office helpers.
  • Prepare and assemble eighth grade records for high school.
  • Prepare and organize bulk mailings.
  • Other duties may be assigned by Administration.
