The Construction Estimator will be responsible for preparing accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for construction projects. This role requires a thorough understanding of construction processes, materials, and cost structures. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with project managers, architects, and clients.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze project plans, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates.
- Prepare detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Solicit and review subcontractor and supplier bids and proposals.
- Evaluate project risks and opportunities to ensure comprehensive cost assessments.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to refine and validate estimates.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, market conditions, and construction methods.
- Prepare and present estimate reports and summaries to management and clients.
- Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality.
- Support the preparation of project schedules and timelines based on cost estimates.
- Track and analyze project costs and variances to improve future estimating accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role.
- Strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and methods.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, Pro Est, Plan Swift) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Salary $85,000-$95,000
