Job Title: American Indian Education Coordinator

Job Summary: Under the direction of the Integration Supervisor, the American Indian Education (AIE) Coordinator supports the success of American Indian and Alaska Native students by building meaningful relationships, promoting cultural pride and belonging, and creating strong connections among school, family, and community. This position coordinates culturally responsive programming, student advocacy, family engagement, staff learning, and aid-supported services to ensure American Indian students have access to opportunities and supports across the district.

Working closely with students, families, elders, staff, and community partners, the AIE Coordinator helps develop and sustain programs that honor American Indian identity, strengthen engagement, and support student achievement.

Salary/Wage Information: The salary range for this position is $91,208 to $96,505 based on Level XII (C52) of the current Coordinators, Supervisors and Specialists Terms and Conditions. A generous insurance plan including medical, dental, vision, life and long term disability insurance. We also offer a 3.5% 403b employer match.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Establish, coordinate, and sustain meaningful, culturally appropriate mentorship, engagement, and connection opportunities for American Indian students.
  • Serve as an advocate for American Indian and Alaska Native students to ensure equitable access to all district academic programs, activities, services, and supports.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with students for the purpose of developing confidence, promoting pride in American Indian heritage, supporting school engagement, and addressing areas of academic, social, or personal challenge.
  • Develop and implement culturally enriching, project-based learning activities that increase student knowledge of cultural identity, history, leadership, and community connection.
  • Coordinate and provide culturally focused after-school programming, including NASA programming at the high school level.
  • Facilitate student groups, leadership opportunities, and culturally grounded gatherings that support student voice, belonging, and success.
  • Analyze student and program needs, identify barriers to success, and help develop responsive supports and interventions.
  • Support curricular and extracurricular opportunities that strengthen student belonging, participation, and achievement.
  • Increase family and caregiver participation through planning, facilitation, and follow-up for monthly AIPAC meetings and related engagement activities.
