Job Title

Hmong Student, Family, and Community Engagement Specialist

• Promote academic growth and success
• Nurture relationships between families and school staff
• Serve as a cultural resource between families, school staff and the community
• Support students and families in navigating our school systems
• Support home learning environments
• Expand access to postsecondary information and pathways

7.0 hours per day, 175 days per year.

High school diploma or GED equivalent. Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Multicultural Studies, Counseling or related field.

• Two years' experience working with families across cultures, preferably in a school setting.
• Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Work, Multicultural Studies, Counseling or related field preferred.
• Fluency in English and an additional language connected to the assigned cultural community.
• Experience building relationships with and supporting parents across cultures.
• Experience interpreting in a professional setting.
• Knowledge of and comfort sharing Latin American culture.
• Ability to work in a team environment, take work direction from and collaborate with a broad range of district employees and teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and establish boundaries in working with students and families.
• Computer and technology skills; proficiency in Word, Google Docs, and ability to learn new platforms.
• Other duties as assigned.

The hourly salary range for this position is $22.94–$25.26 (A13). A generous insurance plan is also included.
