About This Role

District 97 seeks a dedicated and dynamic part‑time Title I Tutor to join our team. The Title I Tutor position will ensure that equity is at the center of the district's tutoring services to positively impact student learning and employee practices as expressed in Board Policy 7:12:
Ensuring Racial and Educational Equity.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for reading and/or math services in individual, small group, and/or full classroom settings.
  • Communicates regularly with classroom teachers regarding individual student progress.
  • Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the district's reading or math content standards.
  • Conducts student assessments to identify intervention services, to plan instruction, and/or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques. Assesses the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required.
Content Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of
  • Reading and/or math content standards for a school district.
  • Instructional strategies for small groups, individuals, and full classroom settings.
  • Diverse student assessment techniques.
  • Equity-centered practices as expressed in Board Policy 7:12.
Skilled in
