Salary:
Per Faculty Senate collective bargaining agreement, initial placement on the salary schedule between BA and MA+60 depending on the educational level, and Step 1 and 5 depending on experience. Includes full benefits package.

Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Temporary full-time, long-term Substitute Spanish Teacher to join our team at World Languages. This full-time temporary position will involve teaching Spanish to students at various levels, fostering a positive learning environment, and promoting cultural understanding through language education. The ideal candidate will have a strong command of the Spanish language, effective teaching strategies, and a commitment to student success.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and cater to diverse learning styles.
  • Teach Spanish language skills, including speaking, listening, reading, and writing, to students at different proficiency levels.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and fosters a love for the Spanish language and culture.
  • Assess student progress through formal and informal evaluations and provide constructive feedback to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Collaborate with other educators and staff to support student learning and development.
  • Communicate regularly with students and their families regarding academic progress and any concerns.
  • Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive and respectful atmosphere.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in language instruction.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the school administration.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Spanish, Education, or a related field.
  • Valid teaching certification or license in Spanish education.
  • Proficiency in the Spanish language, both written and spoken.
  • Previous teaching or tutoring experience preferred, particularly in a classroom setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans.
  • Familiarity with technology and educational tools to enhance language instruction.
  • Commitment to fostering an inclusive and culturally responsive learning environment.
  • Ability to adapt to changing circumstances and work collaboratively as part of a team.
