Emergency Medicine - Advanced Practice Provider

Position Overview

Rush Oak Park Hospital, part of the Rush University System for Health, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Emergency Department staff.

• Provide acute and routine medical/surgical care to patients within scope of practice.
• Collaborate with a 58‑hour physician coverage and 40‑hour mid‑level coverage team daily.
• Support the 22 private rooms and 10 Fast Track treatment areas.
• Work a rotating 10‑hour schedule, including up to two weekend shifts per four‑week block; night shifts may be added as needed.

• APRN candidates with pediatrics or Family Nurse Practitioner certification.

• Nurse Practitioner
  • Current licensure as Registered Professional Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse in Illinois.
  • Master of Science in Nursing or Doctor of Nursing Practice with an appropriate clinical specialty.
  • Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
  • State of Illinois DEA license.
  • Maintain clinical privileges at RUMC, ROPH, and RCMC.
  • CPR, ACLS, and PALS certification.
  • Excellent communicator; experience treating patients of all ages; procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).
• Physician Assistant
  • Current licensure as Physician Assistant/Associate in Illinois.
  • Accredited Physician Assistant/Associate program completion.
  • Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
  • Maintain clinical privileges at RUMC, ROPH, and RCMC.
  • Excellent communicator; experience treating patients of all ages; procedural experience (simple laceration repair, I&D).

Pay Range: $124,610 – $175,000. Total compensation includes base pay, benefits, incentive programs, premium pay rates, sign‑on bonuses, and relocation allowances.
