SUMMARY
Supervises the housekeeping services at facility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESInclude the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Recruits, hires, provides orientation/training, and retains a sufficient number of qualified staff to carry out the responsibilities of the housekeeping functions. Oversees that employee performance meets or exceeds expectations and periodic performance appraisals are conducted on a timely basis.
Ensuring resident rooms, bathrooms and common areas daily are cleaned (dusted, dry mopped, wet mopped, sanitized, scrubbed) according to facility procedures.
Overseeing the cleaning of walls, ceilings, windows, mirrors, and waxing of floors according to department procedures and cleaning schedules.
Ensuring housekeeping supplies are kept out of reach of residents at all times.
Supervising the disposal of trash and waste, including bio-hazardous waste and other materials that require special handling, only in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
May occasionally perform the above housekeeping duties in cases of emergency or staffing shortages.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of one (1) year housekeeping and / or laundry experience in an institutional setting.
Supervises the housekeeping staff and others for whom they are administratively or professionally responsible.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND ENVIRONMENTEmployee is frequently required to stand, walk, use hands or fingers, reach with hands and arms, feel, talk and hear. May occasionally lift or move items of up to 50 pounds. Employee is occasionally exposed to blood or other body fluids, fumes or airborne particles and toxic or caustic chemicals. In compliance with applicable law, reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the position.
OTHERREQUIREMENTS
Participates in (or conducts) company-sponsored training to safeguard against improper use and disclosure of resident’s protected health information. Monitors and oversees facility’s efforts to comply with company policies, procedures and state and federal law. By his / her signature below, employee agrees to adhere to and oversee communication of privacy guidelines relative to the confidentiality of residents’ protected health information.
WAGE RATE: FROM $22.00 to $26.00 PER HOUR DEPENDING ON EXPERIENCEMariner Healthcare reserves the right to discontinue any bonus program at anytime.
