Built on over 230 issued patents, our compact MRI system holds FDA 510(k) clearance for MRI-guided prostate biopsy, and our team continues to develop the AI screening, robotic guidance, and targeted-treatment capabilities that will extend the platform.

Promaxo is seeking a highly skilled and customer-focused Field Service Engineer/Technician to support installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair of its point-of-care MRI systems at customer clinical sites. Reporting to the Sr. Director of Operations, this hands‑on, customer-facing role requires strong technical troubleshooting capability and electromechanical skill, and ensures Promaxo s MRI-guided prostate biopsy platform performs reliably in real-world clinical environments — directly supporting patient care.
You will document field events and provide feedback to engineering, operations, and quality teams to drive continuous improvement. This is a highly visible role well suited to a technically skilled individual who enjoys hands‑on work, travel to customer sites, and being part of a mission‑driven medical device company — whether an experienced technician or an early‑career engineer looking to grow with a rapidly scaling company.
- Install, configure, and commission Promaxo MRI systems at customer clinical sites, including uncrating, setup, calibration, verification, and on-site acceptance testing
- Conduct site assessments to ensure electrical, environmental, and space requirements are met
- Collaborate with facilities teams, contractors, and service partners to prepare customer sites
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance, mechanical alignment, diagnostics, coil checks, and system calibrations
- Execute corrective maintenance to resolve MRI system failures, subsystem malfunctions, image quality issues, firmware problems, and electrical/mechanical faults
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and software-related equipment issues in the field, troubleshooting to identify root causes and restore system functionality
Clinical & Customer Support
- Provide on-site and remote technical support (phone, email, video, ticketing system) to clinical customers
- Support clinicians and technologists during go‑live, early adoption, and post‑installation phases
- Train users on system operation, imaging workflow, daily checks, and safety practices
- Represent Promaxo professionally and provide a responsive, high-quality customer experience
Technical Documentation & Reporting
- Maintain accurate service logs, visit reports, system configurations, and maintenance documentation
- Document service activities, parts usage, and issue resolution in Promaxo s quality, CRM, and ticketing systems in compliance with established procedures
- Document and escalate systemic issues to engineering and operations teams
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with the Sr. Director of Operations and Engineering on recurring issues and product feedback
- Provide field insights to design engineering, manufacturing, and product teams for continuous product improvement
