Our Opening and Your Responsibilities

As part of the Rainin team, you will provide direct support for Rainin’s On‑Site Service program. In this role, you will travel within a defined geographic region to inspect, clean, repair, reassemble, and calibrate Rainin and other brands of pipettes. You will also perform mechanical and electronic measurements, recording, and inspections to ensure serviced pipettes conform to established specifications. The responsibilities are as follows:

  • Establish a weekly service visit schedule in coordination with the Area Service Leader.
  • Travel to customer sites to provide on‑site pipette service according to the service schedule.
  • Perform pipette repair and calibration services at customer facilities.
  • Represent Rainin in a professional, courteous, and positive manner.
  • Complete service reports and expense reports accurately and on time.
  • Maintain service equipment, tools, and parts inventory.
  • Provide Rainin Sales with customer leads for potential new product purchases.
  • Assist with Service Center production activities, as assigned by the Pipette Service Supervisor, when available.
  • Travel to customer locations, including use of a personal vehicle when needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Service‑Specific Duties
  • Disassemble, clean, repair, and reassemble pipettes.
  • Inspect units received for service for component defects.
  • Ensure all repair work meets established quality standards.
  • Calibrate pipettes, when applicable, according to testing protocols and calibration procedures based on the selected service option.
  • Perform quality audits on pipettes during calibration to ensure each unit meets repair quality standards.
  • Complete work sheets, part usage tallies, repair estimates, and related paperwork.
  • Follow customer instructions related to their orders, including requests for additional parts.
  • Complete database entries and related documentation, account for parts used, and ensure proper billing processes are completed.
  • Ensure all test equipment is maintained, calibrated, and in good working order.
  • Maintain proper levels of replacement parts, supplies, and materials.
  • Promote On‑Site Service to customers through literature distribution, flyer posting, and direct outreach.
  • Follow applicable Rainin procedures and policies and support Rainin’s Quality System.
  • Accurately complete and submit expense reports in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

To be eligible for this position, you must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring any employment‑based visa sponsorship now or in the future. This includes CPT, OPT, F‑1, J‑1, H‑1B, or any other employment‑based visa. Please note that we do not provide relocation or housing assistance at this time.

What You Need to Succeed
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of one year of related experience in manufacturing, instrumentation, or related technical work; or an equivalent combination of education and prior experience.
  • Previous knowledge of or work experience with pipettes preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record required.
  • Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Strong written communication skills, including frequent email communication with customers and associates and daily completion of service reports.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
  • Basic computer skills, including email and common Microsoft Office programs.
  • Good mechanical aptitude and ability to disassemble and reassemble small precision mechanical instruments.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to schedule, process, and complete multiple tasks successfully
