Job Summary:
Responsible for managing the daily work assignments and supervision of workers in a grounds maintenance crew in such a way to meet production demands and contract-specific requirements while maintaining quality standards and good customer relations.
Responsibilities:a. Snow Plowing – Responsible to drive a snow plow route, which generally begins at 5:00 a.m.b. Mulch Program – Responsible for the smooth operation of the primary mulch crew,keeping to the schedule and meeting contract demands.c. Landscaping – Responsible for landscaping projects per customer request and maintenance duties as assigned.d. General Grounds Maintenance – Responsible for general grounds maintenance duties as assigned.
Site Maintenancea. Maintain clean, orderly work area.b. Initiating work orders for needed repairs to equipment/vehicles.c. Provide transportation to and from job site(s) in an agency vehicle.d. Maintain equipment and/or notify appropriate personnel of problems.e. Keep accurate records.f. Monitor inventory of necessary supplies and materials.g. Initiate purchase requests for needed supplies and materials.h. Attend and participate in meetings and/or trainings as requested.i. Maintain working knowledge of the Agency’s and Program Policies and Proceduresj.
Satisfactorily complete required training period.k.Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilitya. Train crew members as needed.b. Schedule crew members.c. Complete paperwork associated with job, i.e., timecards, attendance, mileage logs in atimely manner.d. Promote and maintain safety; provide safety training as needed.

Good communication skills.
Leadership qualities.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use of grounds equipment including, but not limited to,chain saw, lawn equipment, skid loader and chipper.
Must have a good driving record and able to pass a CDL physical.
Physically able to complete all aspects of the job to include lifting a minimum of 50 pounds, lifting and transferring equipment, climbing a ladder, work standing or in a crouched position for extended periods of time, work outdoors in extreme weather conditions, and work extra hours as needed to meet contract demands.
