Position Summary

The Cleaning Services Housekeeper is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment throughout Mountain Laurel Medical Center (MLMC) facilities. This position performs routine cleaning and disinfection of patient care areas, waiting areas, offices, restrooms, breakrooms, vestibules, and other assigned spaces in accordance with established cleaning procedures, infection prevention practices, and workplace safety standards.

The Housekeeper plays an important role in supporting patient and employee safety and creating a positive experience for patients, visitors, and staff.

• Cleans and disinfects exam rooms and other assigned patient care areas.
• Cleans and disinfects high-touch surfaces using approved cleaning products and procedures.
• Cleans floors and addresses spills, debris, or other cleaning needs as necessary.
• Empties trash and replaces liners.
• Ensures exam rooms are clean and ready for the next day's operations.

• Cleans and maintains floors in waiting rooms and other assigned common areas.
• Cleans and disinfects high-touch surfaces, including door handles, light switches, counters, and other frequently touched areas.
• Empties trash and replaces liners.
• Maintains waiting areas in a clean, orderly, and welcoming condition.
• Cleans vestibules, including floors, surfaces, entry areas, and high-touch surfaces.
• Removes debris and trash from assigned areas.

• Cleans and disinfects restroom floors and surfaces.
• Cleans and disinfects sinks, toilets, fixtures, and other restroom surfaces.
• Empties trash and replaces liners.
• Removes debris and addresses spills or other cleaning needs.
• Cleans and disinfects high-touch areas.
• Replenishes restroom supplies as needed.

• Cleans office floors weekly and additionally as needed.
• Empties office trash Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
• Performs additional cleaning as needed to maintain a clean and appropriate work environment.

• Cleans breakroom floors weekly and additionally as needed.
• Empties trash daily.
• Cleans appropriate counters, tables, sinks, and other surfaces to maintain a clean and sanitary shared space.

• Performs cleaning and disinfection using MLMC-approved products, equipment, and procedures.
• Gives daily attention to frequently touched surfaces throughout assigned areas.
• Follows applicable infection prevention, environmental safety, and workplace safety procedures.
• Uses cleaning chemicals and equipment according to manufacturer instructions and established safety requirements.
• Uses appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
• Identifies and promptly reports spills, safety hazards, maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, or conditions requiring additional attention.
• Maintains cleaning supplies and notifies the appropriate individual when supplies need to be replenished.
• Properly handles and disposes of waste in accordance with established procedures.
• Secures cleaning supplies and chemicals appropriately.
• Maintains cleaning equipment in a clean and serviceable condition.
• Respects patient and employee privacy and maintains confidentiality while working throughout MLMC facilities.
• Performs duties in a manner that minimizes disruption to patient care and organizational operations.
• Provides courteous and professional interactions with patients, visitors, and staff.
• Performs other cleaning and housekeeping duties as assigned.
