Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate day‑to‑day activities of maintenance workers to ensure that production equipment, machinery or instruments function reliably and safely.
- Monitor workers responsible for maintenance of production equipment and related systems.
- Assist with root‑cause analysis of equipment failures and implement fixes.
- Be available for on‑call as needed.
- Oversee maintenance of injection molding, blow molding and packaging equipment.
- Oversee activities of the maintenance department.
- Review and approve preventive maintenance documents.
- Schedule and manage preventive maintenance activities.
- Build world‑class mechanical and preventive maintenance teams, keeping production equipment in excellent condition, lines running at high efficiencies, and maintaining proper stock of parts.
- Oversee outside contractors performing installations and projects at the facility.
- Interface with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.
- Hire, train, coach, and review the performance of employees.
- Work with HR on employee discipline issues, terminations and recruitment.
- Oversee safety team activities, monitor and enforce safety requirements.
- Build a positive work environment.
- Develop, recommend and implement measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality.
- Suggest changes in working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency of shop, department or work crew.
- Analyze and resolve work problems and assist workers in solving work problems.
- Maintain time and maintenance records.
- Develop capital equipment justifications for machine tools and process technology to improve quality, cost and cycle times.
- Estimate, requisition and inspect materials.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Regular and predictable attendance is an essential function of the job.
