Position Summary

Direct hands‑on mechanical and electrical hourly and salaried employee(s) to meet short and long‑range objectives with optimum efficiency. Plan maintenance/capital budgets through plant opportunities. Ensure project standards, guidelines, and regulatory compliance. Focus on productivity improvements, cost optimization, and efficient process implementation. Establish KPIs, drive proactive asset management, and support EH&S initiatives.

Responsibilities & Expectations
  • Maintain reliability and availability of plant assets and equipment.
  • Direct and prioritize needed repairs.
  • Regularly advise production/plant management on equipment status and repairs.
  • Lead identification and resolution of equipment failures.
  • Allocate resources appropriately amid competing demands.
  • Effectively manage and utilize contractors.
  • Champion maintenance department communications.
  • Communicate effectively with all maintenance employees and establish a clear department vision.
  • Create a culture of trust and open communication.
  • Lead and develop maintenance staff (electricians and mechanics) by providing hands‑on structure, direction, and feedback.
  • Set clear guidelines, expectations, and roles for the team.
  • Drive culture change from reactive to proactive asset management.
  • Provide clear, honest feedback and set performance expectations.
  • Plan maintenance, electrical, and engineering activities to meet short‑ and long‑term objectives.
  • Ensure annual outages are planned, scheduled, executed, and closed.
  • Implement best practices for spares management.
  • Support EH&S initiatives and lead a safety culture.
  • Maintain compliance of the maintenance team with all EH&S standards, programs, and requirements.
  • Ensure a safe and healthy workplace environment.

  • Ability to work any shift, overtime, seven days a week, or holidays, if needed; solid daily attendance required.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; previous SAP knowledge is a plus.
Physical Demands

Must be physically able to perform plant work, access all locations, tolerate severe weather, high temperature, noise, dust, and confined‑space environments, climb ladders up to 120ft, and lift up to 50lb. Work may be performed in an office and in mining/mineral processing environments under extreme heat or cold, vibration, fumes, and metallic particles.

Required Education

High School Diploma or GED. Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or a technical‑related field, or equivalent work experience is desired.

Preferred Education

1–3‑year BS degree in Engineering or a related field with strong electrical, PLC control, and mechanical maintenance background. Master’s degree is a plus.

Required Experience

5–7 years of proven hands‑on maintenance leadership experience in a fast‑paced heavy manufacturing, construction, or mining environment. Prior electrical or mechanical experience is required. Development and implementation of reliability systems…
