Custodian and Cart Clerk Part Time

Job Summary

Responsible for performing general maintenance and cleaning duties and maintaining high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members. Gathers and returns carts/flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance to ensure ready access for club members.

• Provide prompt and courteous service and assistance to members.
• Maintain high standards of safety and sanitation for members and team members.
• Maintain cleanliness of all club areas: sales floor, offices, restrooms, outdoor grounds, and parking lot.
• Gather and return carts and flatbeds from the parking lot to the club entrance.
• Remove trash or debris from the parking lot, cart corrals, and exterior of the club.
• Ensure carts are well‑stocked at the entrance, work in order, clean, and remove unsuitable carts.
• Return new and unused merchandise to the sales floor.
• Perform maintenance and cleaning duties including wet and dry mopping, sweeping, vacuuming, carpet extraction, glass washing, emptying trash receptacles, and pulling pallets.
• Maintain outdoor grounds: cart corrals, sidewalks, and outdoor trash receptacles.
• Prioritize maintenance and cleaning responsibilities efficiently.
• Operate the floor scrubber, trash compactor, and cardboard baler machines safely and efficiently.
• Restock maintenance/cleaning supplies and keep supply areas clean, neat, and organized.
• Perform minor routine building repairs and notify management when major repairs are required.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments when needed.
• Ensure regular, predictable, full attendance.

• Must successfully complete required training and certification processes.
• Prior maintenance or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
• Prior retail/wholesale experience preferred.
• May be less than 18 years of age to perform parking lot cart functions; must be over 18 to operate equipment and enter age‑restricted areas.

Most of the time is spent moving about on hard surfaces. May frequently require bending, climbing, crawling, pulling, reaching, stooping and climbing ladders or step stools. Frequently requires lifting objects up to 30 pounds and may require lifting and moving heavy or awkward objects more than 30 pounds with assistance. Requires using a pallet jack to pull and push pallets. Frequent exposure to company‑authorized cleaning agents, paint, and chemicals.

Exposure to indoor and outdoor temperatures, and occasional exposure to extreme temperatures in freezers and coolers. Frequently works both indoors and outdoors with regular exposure to outdoor weather conditions.

Starting compensation estimate: $16.00 per hour. Actual salaries will vary depending on location, education, experience, and qualifications.
