Job Description
This mid-level Fleet Mobile Technician II provides high-quality vehicle maintenance and repairs for fleet vehicles, focusing on customer satisfaction and cost-effective service. The Technician works independently or in a team, reporting to the Area Fleet Maintenance Supervisor, Area Fleet Maintenance Manager, or Senior Area Fleet Maintenance Manager.
Job Responsibilities- Perform preventive maintenance: change oil, oil filter, fuel filter, transmission flush, and vehicle inspection for mechanical deficiencies; perform light repairs as required.
- Based upon certification levels, perform various repairs and maintenance, including OBD II systems, brake components, tires, tune‑ups, suspension components, aerial lifts, electrical systems, State Safety inspections, interior/exterior components, engine, and drive line components.
- Maintain and repair equipment such as cable trailers and laptop docking stations.
- Keep shop area clean and tidy, perform work in accordance with safety standards, and dispose of all fluids safely and in compliance with regulations.
- Create and maintain vehicle history and maintenance records; up‑fit new vehicles with necessary equipment.
- Perform complex repairs, advanced diagnostics, and fabrication tasks.
- Coordinate with vendors for parts and repairs; provide roadside assistance when needed.
- Engage in equipment design, moderate fabrication, and welding as required.
- Troubleshoot and repair complex hydraulic systems, generators, HVAC, electrical systems, hybrids, and onboard computer systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma/GED and 3 years’ experience in a related field; other combinations with higher education or certifications acceptable.
- Minimum of 3 years of vehicle service and repair experience; 1 year of customer service experience preferred.
- Minimum of 4 ASE certifications preferred.
- Ability to drive vehicles with standard and automatic transmission.
- Ability to work safely in a fast‑paced environment.
- Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently.
- Regularly required to stand, walk, reach, talk, and hear; frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, squat, and climb.
- Vision required: close, distance, color, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
- Compliance with DOT FMCSA regulations; completion of background screening, DOT physical, and valid DOT medical card or physical.
- At least 21 years old.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain and maintain Driver Qualification File.
Hourly pay range: $29.09 - $43.61 per hour. Base rate may vary based on location and qualifications. Position may be eligible for additional compensation such as commission and/or incentive programs.
BenefitsMinimum of 6.67 hours of paid time off every month and seven paid holidays annually. Additional paid time off available for bereavement, voting, jury duty, volunteer time, military leave, and parental leave.
