Maintenance Technician - 20 Hours Per Week
Oakbrook Corporation is hiring a part-time maintenance technician at Berkshire Oconomowoc, an 85-unit senior apartment community. This is an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on work, values strong relationships, and takes pride in maintaining a high-quality living environment.
This role offers 20 hours per week plus the opportunity to earn additional income through an on-call rotation every 4 weeks.
What It's Like to Be a Maintenance Technician at OakbrookIn this role, you'll balance routine maintenance with day-to-day service requests, keeping the community in top condition. You'll work independently while also collaborating with a supportive on-site team.
You'll be a familiar, trusted presence-someone residents know they can count on when something needs attention. If you enjoy variety, solving problems, and interacting with people in a positive, professional way, you'll fit right in.
Key Responsibilities- Perform general maintenance and repairs, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliances, and basic carpentry
- Respond to service requests efficiently while providing friendly, professional service
- Assist with apartment turnovers to ensure units are clean, functional, and ready for move-in
- Conduct preventative maintenance and routine inspections
- Maintain common areas, grounds, and overall curb appeal
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors as needed
- Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for emergency maintenance
- Identify and report safety issues or maintenance concerns
- Provide support at nearby properties as needed

- Valid driver's license required
- Must provide personal hand tools
