Primary

Purpose:

To provide a safe, clean, attractive, and efficiently maintained building for students and teachers to learn and develop scholastically.

• Directs and oversees responsibilities for other custodians.
• Responsible for opening and closing the building, controlling the temperature, and maintaining general cleanliness.
• Instructs custodial staff in the use of equipment, chemicals, and materials.
• Provides training and evaluation of building custodial staff.
• Assists in developing work and time schedules for custodians.
• Assumes responsibility for care and condition of equipment.
• Orders and maintains inventory of custodian and housekeeping supplies.
• Performs inspections of building conditions and reports to the principal or supervisor.
• Directs minor building repairs (mechanical, electrical, carpentry, or other).
• Cleanse a portion of the building as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Mental and physical demands include maintaining emotional control under stress and occasional prolonged or irregular hours. Environmental factors include exposure to cleaning chemicals, potential noise, and variable temperatures.

• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.
• 2 to 5 years’ experience as a custodian.
• Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of responsibilities.

Salary: $17 to $23.74 per hour. Position type:
Full-Time.
