Job Title:
Head Custodian - Elementary School Wage/Hour Status:

Primary
Purpose:
To provide a safe, clean, attractive and efficiently maintained building for students, and teachers to learn and develop scholastically.
Qualifications:
To demonstrate the aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned responsibilities
Experience:
2 to 5 years' experience as a custodian
Reports to:
Custodial Foreman
Major
Responsibilities and Duties:
* Directs and oversees responsibilities for other custodians
* Has responsibility for opening and closing the building, controlling the temperature in the building, and for the general cleanliness of the building
* Instructing custodial staff in the use of equipment, chemicals, and materials
* Responsible for training and evaluating their building custodial staff
* Assist in developing work and time schedules for custodians
* Assume responsibility for care and condition of equipment
* Assume responsibility for ordering and maintaining an inventory of custodian and housekeeping supplies and materials
* Perform inspections of building conditions and reports to the principal or supervisor
* Assume responsibility for directing minor building repairs - (mechanical, electrical, carpentry or other)
* Responsible for cleaning a portion of the building, the same as a regular custodian
* Perform other duties as assigned

Maintain emotional control under stress. Occasional prolonged or irregular hours
