Maintenance Technician / Mechanic

The Rental Field Technician I (R) is a “Rotational” position that usually works a rotating schedule, typically 14 days “on” followed by 7 days “off”. The employee must travel to and lodge at the assigned location for the duration of the 14‑day assignment. The role is accountable for delivering high‑quality repair service on equipment to meet customer needs in a positive, caring, and timely manner and to maximize value.
WhatYou’ll Do
- Complete assigned jobs and tasks to meet flat‑rate times and re‑do metrics.
- Complete related paperwork and enter data into required databases (work order, parts order, JSA, DBS, SIMS, SIS web, STW) accurately and timely.
- Remove and install parts, disassemble and assemble components, and test and adjust assemblies with minimal supervision.
- Provide accurate information to management for quoting.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems, give repair recommendations, and perform all critical Rental and engine repairs and adjustments.
- Test and verify correct operation of all repairs and adjustments.
- Apply general failure‑analysis procedures to determine proper diagnosis.
- High school diploma or GED, or one to three years of related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- CDL preferred.
- Ability to obtain or currently possess any required licenses, certifications and/or registrations.
- Ability to mentor Rental team members.
- Must have adequate tooling to perform duties.
- Knowledge of database software, internet software, manufacturing software and order‑processing systems.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
- Must be 21 years old or older.
- Flexibility to work various schedules including shift work, overtime and on‑call duty.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands and arms to reach, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit or smell. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
The employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and toxic or caustic chemicals. The employee is frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high or precarious places, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather, extreme cold and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to electrical shock and vibration. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Required travel up to 100%.
