Overview
Walmart is hiring General Maintenance Technicians. Responsibilities include diagnosing, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on all commercial equipment supporting Walmart stores. The role also involves developing preventative maintenance schedules, completing assigned PMs within set time frames, and training Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.
Responsibilities- Diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on facilities, equipment and fixtures (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment).
- Complete routine maintenance to ensure safety and proper functionality.
- Manage work orders and routine maintenance schedules, providing required written and electronic information such as expense vouchers, weekly summaries, work orders, and maintenance logs.
- Train Store Associates on equipment care and cleaning.
- 5 years of experience in maintenance.
- Valid state‑issued driver’s license with a clean driving record and the ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record report.
- One year of experience using intermediate level functionality of word processing, spreadsheet, email, and presentation software (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- 7 years of experience in plumbing, electrical, material handling equipment, or related trade.
- Eligible for a Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
- Experience in any of the following: plumbing, electrical, carpentry, material handling equipment, food equipment.
- Customer‑service orientation, clear communication, personal accountability, time‑management, judgment in prioritizing tasks, and a team‑oriented servant leadership mindset.
Hourly wage range: $21.00 – $40.00. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid. Premiums may vary from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if criteria are met.
