PSI Shop Foreman, Non-Exempt

Responsibilities

• Supervises all shop employees in the day-to-day location operations.
• Reports directly to the Dispatcher/Assistant District Manager and assists in managing the location operations.
• Successfully supervises subordinate employees in the location operations.
• Promotes and communicates the Safety and Quality Systems through meetings.
• Performs service coordination and manages yard activity.
• Analyzes mechanical and electrical equipment to determine potential problems and necessary improvements to ensure viability of company equipment.
• Verifies that all equipment is within certification.
• Obtains or assists in obtaining the supplies required to maintain service line equipment using only approved vendors and purchase order forms.
• Maintains records with sufficient commentary to ensure that quality assurance requirements are met.
• Provides mechanical assistance and advice to other employees as necessary.
• Analyzes and evaluates the cost of repairs to service line equipment.
• Repairs or supervises the repair of service line equipment.
• Enhances mechanical methods and techniques.
• Communicates condition of equipment that does not meet specifications to the Assistant District/Location Manager for replacement and/or disposal.
• Maintains segregation of equipment.
• Administers SSE program.
• Maintains and logs all repair parts for all equipment to meet customer requirements.
• Reports and notifies appropriate personnel of inventory inconsistencies.
• Communicates newly assigned asset number to shop personnel and ensures equipment is stenciled with the same prior to placing it into service.
• Other duties as assigned.
