Mechanic
Work under general direction to perform a wide range of mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks. Know and comply with all safety policies and procedures. Support and promote the site's continuous improvement culture. Use hand and power tools to accomplish these tasks. Change lubrication fluids and filters in production equipment. Replace lighting and ballasts as needed. Complete preventative maintenance on equipment at regular intervals.
Participate in on-call rotation for the department. Develop good working relationships with other departments on the site through professional communication. Maintain a clean and well-organized work area. Work in a variety of environments at a chemical plant, mostly outdoors and in all weather conditions. Other maintenance related duties as assigned.
High school diploma/GED. 1 year experience in general maintenance work. Basic analytical and troubleshooting skills. Strong mechanical knowledge, especially around fixed and rotating equipment (pumps, piping, storage tanks, etc). Basic electrical knowledge. Ability to troubleshoot electrical instrumentation and devices. Strong organizational and time management skills. Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (Emaint, SAP, etc). Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to organize daily activities of self and others.
